Assam is a state prone to Floods and the devastation it causes is unprecedented. The current flood of 2022 is one of the most destructive floods ever recorded in the history of the state. There are reports of frequent landslides and approximately 1.9 million people have been affected, where 54 people have lost their lives. Post-flood relief becomes crucial for the people to rebuild their lives and their homes.Diya Foundation in collaboration with Azim Premji Foundation (APF), Bangalore, Goonj, New Delhi, and Cristian Blind Mission (cbm), Bangalore provided the people with reliefmaterials and hygiene assistance. Diya is also developing a plan to engage with these distressed communities on long-time association for rebuilding and regaining their losses through Short, Medium, and Long Term engagement.
